POSCO placed 1st as the most desired company to work in

It is reported that POSCO was placed 1st as the most favorite company to work in by Korea’s company workers and job seekers.

On the 21st Korea Management Association Consulting obtainable the rankings from the 2008 the most favorite company in Korea to work in which was analysis on 4246 company workforce and 4th grade university students preparing for employment. This study targeted 323 Korean companies and selected the `best 30 companies as well as the top companies for each industry.

In the classification of key factors of attraction for workers in the viewpoint of HR according to the survey results, POSCO was highly appraised in four sections including the degree of vision attractiveness, HR management attractiveness, Corporate culture attractiveness and Overall attractiveness by which it was placed 1st in the manufacturing sector out of the best 30 companies.

2nd place in the manufacturing sector was taken by Samsung Electronics followed by Hyundai Heavy Industries, CJ CheilJedang and SK Energy which all made up the top 5 companies.

Hong Kong International Airport gets top ranking

World-wide customers have ranked the Hong Kong International Airport as the best in an yearly survey in which airports from Asia and Southeast Asia have done exceedingly well while those from the US have failed to find a place in the top 10.

Based on factors like shopping, dining, staff courtesy, baggage release and wait times at security, airport customers chose Hong Kong over 190 others in an annual survey conducted by Skytrax, a privately-owned research company in London.

The ranking was finalised based on 8.2 million company in questionnaires completed by passengers over a 10-month time period from 2007 to 2008.

According to the survey, Hong Kong, which has a standing for efficiency and comfort, bested airports in Singapore and Seoul, South Korea, with airports in Kansai, Japan, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, also ranking in the top 10.

Airports in Europe - Munich, Germany; Copenhagen, Denmark; Zurich, Switzerland; and Helsinki, Finland - most of the remaining top spots, Forbes.Com said. Cape Town, South Africa was place at No.10.

Though none of the airports in the United States broken the top 10, international airports in San Francisco, Denver, Dallas and Atlanta had slightly improved positions, over last year, coming in between 11 and 25, the report said.

"The three or four at the top have developed purpose-built, 21st century airports that have every possible item of product and service," said Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax. This includes facilities like free wi-fi and quick train service from the airport to the city's downtown area.

He said the 1960s-era airports in the US are mainly city's function-driven and have been unhurried to adopt a globally competitive approach.

Travel group treats COWS to No. 1 ranking

Where can the world's best ice cream be found?

Well, according to Tauck World Discovery, the answer is COWS in Charlottetown.

The Connecticut company, which offers journey packages to 63 different countries, compiles a list of the top 10 places for ice cream based on the recommendations of its 250 travel directors.

"COWS is a small P.E.I. company, so we are excited to be chosen as the best place to enjoy ice cream in the world," said Joy Gallant, manager of operations at COWS.

"Since 1983, COWS has been listening carefully on producing high-quality, super-premium ice cream. In addition, we have an remarkable team that works in our stores to form a memorable experience for our customers."

COWS not only received the top ranking, but it was the only company from Canada and one of only four ice cream producers in North America to be honoured by Tauck.

The other winners on the record were from the United States (3), Italy (2), New Zealand, Argentina, France and Costa Rica. The Island-owned company has seven stores on P.E.I. and locations in Halifax, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Banff and Whistler. All of the ice cream is made on P.E.I.

COWS serves up over 32 flavours, including Gooey Mooey, Wowie Cowie and Moo Crunch. In 2006, COWS was named as the maker of the best ice cream in Canada by Reader's Digest magazine.
